🔵 FULL TOURNAMENT DESCRIPTION

The 2nd Annual Fish Like A Local “Fresh Water Frenzy” is a multi-division, multi-species fishing / bow fishing freshwater fishing tournament open to anglers of all ages. This event benefits AHERO, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Veterans and First Responders through outdoor-based recovery programs and suicide prevention efforts.

This is a family-friendly competitive event featuring:

• Adult Fishing Division
• Junior Fishing Division
• 4-Man Team Bowfishing Division
• Guaranteed Cash Payouts
• River Rat Pre-Party
• Sponsor Giveaways & Prize Packs

Veterans and First Responders fish FREE in all individual fishing divisions. Entry fees are covered by sponsors.

Bowfishing Teams receive a $40 credit per Veteran or First Responder on the team.

Fishing begins immediately after the River Rat Pre-Party on Friday night.

ADULT FISHING DIVISION (16+)

JUNIOR FISHING DIVISION (15 & Under)

• $25 Entry Per Angler

Junior Payout (Each Species)

🏹 BOWFISHING DIVISION (4-Man Teams)

• $160 Per Boat (Up to 4 Anglers)
• 60% of Total Entry Fees Paid Back
• 60 / 30 / 10 Split

Bowfishing Veteran / First Responder Credit

• $40 credit per verified Veteran or First Responder on the team
• Credits deducted from total team entry fee

⚖ OFFICIAL WEIGH-IN SCHEDULE

🎣 BASS ONLY

Saturday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

⚠️ Bass MUST be presented ALIVE.
Dead bass = automatic disqualification.

⚠️ All anglers must be in line by 4:00 PM sharp.
Late arrivals will be disqualified.

🎣 ALL OTHER SPECIES

(Catfish, Crappie, Panfish & Bowfishing Species)

Sunday: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

⚖ GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES

• All Alabama state fishing regulations apply.
• Valid Alabama fishing license required unless legally exempt.
• Fish must be legally caught during official tournament hours.
• Hook & line only for Adult and Junior Fishing Divisions.
• Bowfishing equipment permitted only in Bowfishing Division.
• Tie goes to earliest fish weighed.
• Fish must meet all state size and creel limits.
• All fish must be presented at official weigh station.
• All carcasses must be removed from property — NO dumping.
• Unsportsmanlike conduct results in disqualification.
• Tournament officials reserve the right to inspect equipment.
• Tournament Director decisions are final.

AHERO (American Heroes Outdoor Recreation) is a 100% volunteer nonprofit organization that connects Veterans and First Responders through outdoor activities to combat isolation, PTSD, and suicide risk. All proceeds from this event support their mission.
